I just got this in the mail tonight from the most excellent modeler himself, Wojtek Fajga!

It looks like the original weekend kit is going to get a bit of a facelift!

The PE looks comprehensive! Are these marketed commercially?

Struggling with the the rigging here. It is just taking a long time. So far I have 22 of 62 strands done. Having two family members in the hospital has distracted me from progressing faster. Life intervenes.

Continuing with this build I have some images to post later tonight. One more bay of rigging to do between the wings. Then the tail unit. I think I'll change my plans for this build slightly. I have seen some brass tubing that may work well for the booms. Thanks Terri!

Looking great Stephen. Were the DH.2s an exception to the general rule that cabane struts were painted in PC10?

Wow – very nice progress on this project – the rigging points very much looks the business I'm taking notes here on your approach.

BTW is that piano wire you are using?

Best Regards

Mikael

Thanks Mikael & Ben! The DH 2 aircraft of 24 RFC were overpainted PC10 by the first battle of the Somme in the summer of 1916. DH 2 truts were usually left the factory grey (at least in that unit.)

Very Nice Stephen !

I do like the faded look of the PC10 on the fuselage Stephen . Also noted the PE mounting attachments on the cab struts , did these come with your set of PE parts ?

This is giving some ideas for the BlueMax kit in the back of my mind for a future project

Thanks Stephen !

Thank you Terri,

I started using slightly modified Eduard aftermarket control horns for the cabane rigging attachments ( the ones with the extreme curve). That was before I received Wotjek Fajga's DH 2 detail sets. The Eduard mods are a close second to the rigging attachments on the originals. I am loath to say that I have another Eduard 1:48 DH 2 build going on behind the scenes to this one. It is got so much PE I really can't call it a plastic kit.

What I wish is that he would do some Fokker D.VII wing skeletals in 1:48. . .
