Hi Mark
I have built plenty off Rodens kits in this scale and this one was sent to me from the Swedish distributer as a review build, so I have somewhat limited time to finish the kit to give the Swedish builder something to look forward to. This kit has much potential for heavy detailing and could into a real gem if time and attention is paid to it. Even if the decals are real good and give you plenty off versions to build I´m glad that Pheon decals giving more options for us modelers. Still the I miss the instrument decals for early birds and hoping someone can give us a hand here. Eduard have a 48-scale set, so Why do they not helping us out.
I´m glad that you like my building style Thanks.

Excellent Larsa. One of my personal favorites and you are bringing it off nicely. Just a heads up the split axle was replaced with a solid bar type when the skis were added.

Nice Larsa

I particulary like the skies  –they look like fun to do - Oh and I need to get me one of those circle cutter thingies too – they would really be useful!

Best Regards

Mikael

I got my cutter from Rebell hobby, check if he still have them.

Larsa

Thanks for the tip Larsa – I'll check with mr Rebell.

She is coming along very well Lars , nice work on the skies as well .

From what you shown us so far the detailing in the kit is pretty good . Roden is consistent with their quality but the lack of instrument faces is alittle of a downer . Won't stop me from picking up of their kits .

Eduards 48 PE instruments aren't bad , but aren't great either . Would be nice to see them come back with the film . You can get 32 scale instruments from Copper State Models so they are out there .

Okay I'll shut up now

Looking forwrd to your next up-date

Hi Terri
I used WK2 decals from mikes, they are awesome. I wonder if Roden reads this thread (If they do). Hint, hint. Today's work have been to look after a nice wooden base for the Tripehound. My plan is to do another vignette or small dio with a pilot or mechanic beside the Tripe. The idea came to me when reading the Windsock, so there will be snow early this winter

Stephen
I really like your Eduard 1:48 scale. I never got hold off it. Nowadays I find them, but not need them, when having Rodens. Back from a short worktour outside my town, so that means new updates some on the Tripehound for you guys.

Hi
It´s Time for the final stages off assembly of the Tripehound kit. The middle wing´s is glued in place and the wicker is painted and in place. What are left to glue in place are some clear covers on the topwing and the horns. Still no problems thru the whole build, Kudos Roden, and finally the rigging stages for the Tripe.
So here´s some pics.

The small Vickers gun turned up nicely with some etches from Parts Camel set. The photo in Windsock tells me that the bird was unarmed when the picture was taken, and Roden suggest an armed profile in the instructions.

The middle wings angled up nicely and the topwing would be no problem to put in place. There´s just the tiny clear inspections cover to cut out and glue in place. I did use Future floorwax on the film before cutting it.

see u

The top wing is on the model and now all that rigging started up. So this means that this build is for it´s homerun.

Hi Lars:

This is really turning out nice! The preshading is really paying off dividends, your wood grain is top notch, and the PE for the gun is a great touch. All in all a real show stopper.

Best
