by: Tim Hatton [ LITESPEED ]

This pre painted seat belt set from Eduard will embellish the detail of the two NACES [Naval Aircrew Ejection Seat] ejection seats supplied with the Trumpeter 1/32 Grumman F-14 Tomcat D kit.

Contents:

The single pre coloured fret includes not only seat harnesses but also the leg restraints, seat activation handles, cushion covers, placards, parachute covers and various other details.

There is some very good attention to detail I particularly like the instruction plaque just above where the shielded squib are located on the side of the headrest. Some folding and bending of the photo etched parts is necessary. Also some light surgery is required, namely the removal of the parachute cover on top of the seat provided by Trumpeter. Note the seats are not identical, Eduard have identified a few differences. The harnesses themselves are created from many parts, so you must pay close attention to the instructions. The detail is amazing even the stitching on the harnesses is reproduced. The pre painted parts will save many hours of work for the time crunched modeler.
As with any pre coloured photo etched parts it always prudent to apply a coat or two a varnish of your choice to fix the printed areas. Please note these photo etched parts are not self adhesive.

Conclusions:

This is a stunning release for the Trumpeter 1/32 F-14D and because of the scale the cockpit demands some extra detail. This detail set for the seats will certainly add a whole lot of interest to the office and in the sort of detail that only the most skilled modeler could reproduce. Nice on Eduard.
