A mention has to go to the instructions, paint profiles and stencil guides. They are superb. The amount of information is staggering. There are extremely good guides on each type of F-16 and what to look for, to make whichever block aircraft you make as accurate as possible. Although the cover suggests using the Tamiya kits, Afterburner provides guidance in their modelling notes on the best kit to use for the particular type and block of aircraft. Also they suggest which after market products to use to get the best representation of the real thing.

If you're thing is the F-16 and you want to depict several aircraft, this set will add interest to your flight line. Tail markings are stunning, brightening up the camouflage scheme. The Indiana ANG/122nd FW, 84-1264 is a particularly striking aircraft, with it's orange tail and stabilators and very colourful air intake. The black and white fuselage and wing stripes are not included as decals, but Afterburner provides the dimensions so that you can cut the correct width masking tape. There are enough stencils to dress up two models.

Quality of the print by Cartograf is simply stunning. Colour density looks superb. Decals are glossy with a minimum amount of carrier film. Stencils and text despite their very small size are legible.

Conclusions.

The quality of this release keeps up the high standards that Afterburner Decals have set themselves. The backup information is amazing in the depth of detail. I am running out of superlatives for these releases from Afterburner Decals. If the F-16 is your thing then this is a must have release. I am going to have to go through my small stash of F-16's to see if any of these beauties can be used. Nice one Afterburner Decals.

Comments

I was hoping an Indiana ANG/122nd FW bird would be part of this set, but never expected 84-1264! I drive by her almost every day.
