Messerscmitt Bf 110C/D

Eagle Editions have released a trio of sets of decals for the Messerschmitt Bf 110C/D. The sheets are produced in:

1/72 - r.r.p. $11.00
1/48 - r.r.p. $15.00
and, as shown here with EagleCals #117, 1/32 scale - r.r.p. $17.50

EagleCals #117-32 comprises 3 sheets of decals and the quality is superb, custom-printed by Cartograf in Italy. The items are thin and glossy with minimal, crystal clear carrier film and perfect registration on the sample sheet. Despite this, this designers have left nothing to chance and gone one better, with a number of the items like Swastikas and fuel filler marks split into layers to allow the user to line things up precisely by eye.

The sheet covers 3 varied Luftwaffe colour schemes:

1. Bf 110C-7, S9 AN, 5./ZG 1
2. Bf 110C, 3U AA, Stab./ZG 26 flown by Geschwaderkommodore Major Joachim-Friedrich Huth
3. Bf 110D, 3U FP, 6.ZG 26

The sheet includes a comprehensive set of stencil markings, something particularly useful for modellers building Dragon's recent largescale Bf 110C-7.

EagleCal's instructions are excellent, with each scheme researched by Mark Proulx and illustrated with full colour profiles and plan views, plus written descriptions of each scheme highlighting detail points that might otherwise be missed.

Conclusion
As usual, Eagle Editions have produced a superb set of decals with a great selection of schemes matched by faultess production. Highly recommended.

I've been modelling for about 40 years, on and off. While I'm happy to build anything, my interests lie primarily in 1/48 scale aircraft. I mostly concentrate on WW2 subjects, although I'm also interested in WW1, Golden Age aviation and the early Jet Age - and have even been known to build the occas...
