The Company
"Plus Model was established in 1990 in the Czech Republic. Our product range is comprised primarily of 1/35th scale resin kits, conversion sets, and accessories which are vacuum cast from polyurethane plastic." ~PM~
They also offer a wide variety of interesting products in other scales.
The Product
Plus Model have very nicely packaged these 44 resin parts in a plastic bag and again in bubble wrap. The sturdy cardboard box adds even more protection along with doing an excellent job of showing you what's inside. Also, I really like how their website is shown in many places if you need to contact them.
The Engine Cowlings for the C-118 Liftmaster set is a must for this 1/72 replica. To Quote Petr at Plus Model as to why they decided to make this set, "I decided because I was building this model for myself and I found out that one of the main mistakes of the kit is bad motor covers. So we drew them in 3D and made them as a repair set.". And it's true, the moment a modeler does a side by side comparison they'll have known it was the right decision. First, the resin has better shape detail over the plastic. Second, the details are more defined and finally the flaps can be posed open leaving you with the option. Connection points on the plugs are easy to saw or cut away and Plus Model have included easy to follow instructions to complete left and right wing cowlings accurately. If you wish there's even the option of upgrading the R-2800 engines, which can be found on the MODELCHOICE.net website.
The Conclusion
For less than $25 US dollars you can add some easily noticeable improvements to a fairly large model. Considering the effort you'd have to put into modifying the Heller kit then, in my opinion, it's a simple choice... an odd statement coming from a man who loves scratch building. You will, however, have to add your own pistons if the cowl flaps are posed open.

Our sincerest thanks go out the awesome people at Plus Model for sending this sample and of course to YOU for taking the time to have a look.
