LööK Fw 190D-9

The pre-painted two piece resin instrument panel and the pre-coloured seat harness are attached to card within cellophane packaging. The glue attaching the parts to the card is a little too strong. Not a problem with the resin parts, but trying to remove the photo etched parts is more problematic. So some care is needed otherwise you will end up with a mangled mess.
There are two pre-painted resin parts that replace the plastic, pre-coloured photo etched and decals of Eduards Fw 190D-9 main instrument panel. The two resin parts of the instrument panel are attached to the casting block via several thin stems. The instrument panel For the Fw 190D-9 is less confusing than the Fw 190A series as there are less parts. The quality of the paintwork on the instrument faces and switches is very good. The instrument panel is also a lot more three dimensional looking compared to the rather flat looking photo etched equivalent. There is a small slot in the upper instrument panel where the kits plastic mount for the gun sight is located.
The pre-coloured seat harness is a welcome addition. It’s made up from six parts and some gentle bending and folding is required.
The instructions are pretty straightforward as the instrument panel is a direct replacement for the kit parts. The harness as already pointed out will require careful bending and some of the buckles need to be bent over.

Conclusions

The new LööK range of instruments seems to be a step forward, particularly for those that loathe photo etched parts. We have become accustomed to Eduards pre-coloured photo etched instrument panels and although they seemed a quantum leap when the first appeared, they do require great care when attaching. The LööK range simplifies the process significantly with impressive results. An ideal set if you have acquired the Weekend Edition of the Fw 190D-9. It will improve the look of the cockpit dramatically.
SUMMARY
Highs: A lot easy to install than photo etched instrument panels and will transform the cockpit area. Inclusion of the harness
Lows: None noted
Verdict: If you want a good looking pre-painted instrument panel that is straight forward to install, then the LööK range will suite you nicely. Highly recommended
