The latest release from Fantasy Printshop as part of their Euro Decals range offers a very attractive selection of Dassault Mirage III colour schemes in 1:32. With the earliest scheme dating back to 1972 and the most recent from 2012, the sheet spans a significant portion of this legendary jet's long carrier.

The decals are spread across two sheets and include full national and individual markings for each aircraft, so you can build every option offered, only needing servicing stencils etc. from whichever kit you're using.

As usual with anything from Fantasy Printshop the printing is superb on the sample sheet, with pin-sharp resolution on the thin, glossy items. Colour density looks excellent and excess carrier film has been kept to a minimum - on items like the national insignia and squadron badges, it's basically non-existent, only being used on designs such as serial numbers to group the characters.

The five aircraft featured are:
1. Mirage IIIO, 90-560, 7 Tactical Attack Sqn., Pakistani Air Force, 1990s
2. Mirage IIIO, A3-25, 75 Sqn., Royal Australian Air Force, 1981
3. Mirage IIIE, "4-BE", Escadron de Chasse 2/4, Armee de l'Air, 1980s
4. Mirage IIIEZ, "842", 3 Sqn., South African Air Force, 1972
5. Mirage IIIO, 90-513, 7 Sqn., Pakistani Air Force, 2012

The line-up offers a great variety of camouflage schemes and both hi- and lo-viz markings, with the 1990s Pakistani aircraft standing out particularly by sporting a mix of a grey fuselage with replacement tan/green wings.

The decals are accompanied by a neat booklet that shows colour 4-views of each scheme, along with notes of any modifications specific to the aircraft. A very handy touch are the colour keys with FS and BS matches, along with Humbrol, Xtracolour, Xtracrylix and Lifecolor model paints.

Set #ED-32121 - Dassault Mirage III is available now, direct from Fantasy Printshop.

Conclusion
Euro Decals' new selection of Mirage markings is perfect if you're building a largescale kit of this iconic aircraft, offering a real variety of very striking schemes. Hopefully, Fantasy Printshop will consider releasing the set in smaller scales too, because the decals should prove deservedly very popular.

I've been modelling for about 40 years, on and off. While I'm happy to build anything, my interests lie primarily in 1/48 scale aircraft. I mostly concentrate on WW2 subjects, although I'm also interested in WW1, Golden Age aviation and the early Jet Age - and have even been known to build the occas...

Thanks for the review, Rowan. It's a very attractive aircraft, though the Italeri kit is a b*tch to build. This is my stab at it in IDF markings.
