Fantasy Printshop have released a comprehensive new set of Euro Decals for the Bristol Blenheim Mk.I/IF in 1:72 and 1:48.

With the new Airfix 1:48 Blenheim getting ever closer to release, Fantasy Printshop have timed their release of their latest sheets of Euro Decals very nicely to whet appetites for the new kit and offer fresh inspiration for anyone building the popular 1:72 kit.

The set includes the same markings in both scales, with a generous selection of six varied colour schemes. As you'd expect from Fantasy Printshop, the printing is second to none, with pin-sharp registration and crystal clear carrier film on the gloss-finished decals. Excess carrier film is basically non existent around items such as the roundels and fin flashes, with just some extra "fill-in" to make applying serials and the fuselage codes easier. The Type A1 roundels feature separate centres to allow modellers absolute precision, so it seems slightly odd that the centres of the Type A roundels are printed integrally. There's no need to worry though - they are right on the money anyway on the sample sheets in both scales.

The subjects covered are:

1. Bristol Blenheim Mk.I s/n K7040, "V/114" of 114 Sqn, RAF, 1937
2. Bristol Blenheim Mk.I s/n K7059, "TW" of 90 Sqn, RAF, 1938
3. Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF s/n unknown, "YN-B" of 601 Sqn, RAF, 1939
4. Bristol Blenheim Mk.I s/n L7760, "UQ" of 211 Sqn, RAF, Greece, 1940
5. Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF s/n K7159, "YK-N" of 54 OTU, RAF, 1940
6. Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF s/n L210, "P" of 771 NAS, FAA, 1942-43

The sheet is packed with items, with individual markings for every scheme. The national insignia are shared and, depending which options you choose, there are sufficient for two models. If you need more, Fantasy Printshop have sets of RAF roundels in their extensive range.

Between them the chosen schemes offer something for everyone, with prewar and Battle of Britain markings, desert and nightfighter schemes, plus the Fleet Air Arm option for good measure. Each aircraft is illustrated in colour with a 4-view diagram, and F.S. colour equivalents are given, along with Humbrol, Xtracolour, Xtracrylix, Lifecolor and ModelMaster paint matches where they are included in the range.

The decals are available now from Fantasy Printshop:

ED72115 - Bristol Blenheim Mk.I/IF - Price: £8.95
ED48115 - Bristol Blenheim Mk.I/IF - Price: £13.95

Conclusion
These new Blenheim decals look very good and offer some interesting schemes for this often unfairly overlooked aircraft.

I've been modelling for about 40 years, on and off. While I'm happy to build anything, my interests lie primarily in 1/48 scale aircraft. I mostly concentrate on WW2 subjects, although I'm also interested in WW1, Golden Age aviation and the early Jet Age - and have even been known to build the occas...

These look nice, and with the 1/48 scale kit on the way from Airfix, some good options here. Thanks
