Timed perfectly for the hotly anticipated arrival of Wingnut Wings' gorgeous-looking new 1:32 kit of the Fokker E.II/III, the new 2-volume study of the Fokker "Eindecker" series from Albatros Productions is an absolute must-have for anyone building a model of the legendary fighters.
I've only had a chance to scrape the surface of Josef Scott's in-depth double monograph, but it's immediately clear that there's a mass of new material exploring each of the sub-types in a degree of detail beyond anything I've seen previously on the aircraft. The clear and informative text is backed up by hundreds of photos accompanied by comprehensive captions, 1:48 scale colour plans and top quality profiles, so I think it's a safe prediction that this will remain the reference on the type, whatever scale you work in.

Albatros Productions' full list of what's featured:

Our new Fokker Eindecker Compendiums provide the most extensive coverage of the famous WWI German fighter mono-planes ever presented. All production types are covered in these two volumes: A.I, Ail, E.l, E.lI, EIlI, and E.IV with dozens of rare photos, many hitherto unpublished, showing not only variations in configuration but close-ups of engines, cockpits and armament. In addition, author Josef Scott has produced highly-detailed, accurate and fully annotated full-colour 1:48 scale drawings of each type - three versions in the case of the EIII - highlighting all the features and nuances of each. Other drawings cover Oberursel motors, framework schematics, plus 1MG 08 machine gun and synchronising system. Ronny Bar has contributed nine all-new detailed profiles for each title based on the latest researches.

Ouch!! My wallet quivers..........hard to keep up with the recent inventory of "must haves"! Having purchased and used the two Albie Specials and the "How To" that followed from Albatros the new Fokker E Types pair is too good to pass up. Now, how to hide this pending purchase from the Banker who doubles as my Spouse??!?! Cheers, Lance
