Dave Clark shares with us some images of a German mechanic that was his entry in the July 2014 figure contest. He used a 1/35 Verlinden mechanic with a Hornet head, painted with Vallejo acrylics. Some of you may recognize this figure from Dave's ongoing WIP diorama "Sunday Service Cancelled!".

Harried and old was the look I was going for... I'm glad you guys think I was able to pull it off. It is my best work to date figure wise. I will be happy if my next ones turn out this good, but so far I feel like a one hit wonder. Thanks guys for your kindness.

Why not--by April 1945 they wre probably pulling in all sorts of older tank mechanics. As a modeler you get to set the limits of what you model. Well done and in 1/35th scale to boot.

I saw you Sturmtiger build log, perfect work. And the mechanic... I do not know how the hell do you paint them like that with such details?

Thanks for the compliments again guys. Perfect work, not quite, but with patience and practice it's better than it was when I started. Details are easier to see if you magnify the subject. Whether an optivisor or a pair of surgeon loops, or just a pair of reading glasses, any help makes it a little less intimidating to try to paint faces and expressions.
