Friedrichshafen FF.33

history
Friedrichshafen FF.33 was a German single-engined amphibious reconnaissance biplane designed by Flugzeugbau Friedrichshafen in 1914. The most famous FF.33 was Wölfchen, the spotter aircraft used by SMS Wolf during her famous raiding cruise of 1916 - 1918.
the model
The Techmod kit contains the essential but it seems to have been designed only from the Windsock plan. Available Photos show other details and some wrong details (a lot in fact) . Such wholesale oversights as the big window under the aircraft, the radiator into the wing and not in front of the wing or more just floats.

It looks like the model is a mixture of early and late production versions of this plane.

This model still remains a beautiful and good model, easy to build if you do not want to change it too much.

I could not resist buying the PART's PE add-ons for Techmod's FF 33E. I didn't use a lot of these pe parts. Some are totally wrong (cap for the floats, belts, radiator grille on the engine) or too small, or do not correspond to the plane I wanted to build (compass on the wing, inspection hatches on the engine hood or under the wings). The more usefull are the seats, the control panel and the panel for radio, the pulley for the antenna, few clips on bottom and head mats, propeller for the dynamo, tank and the internal structure of the cabin which serves as a model.

Louis, What a fantastic build. As usual the rigging just mystifies me. Your paint and weathering is simply outstanding. Joel
