history
The FW-190D was created in a bid to improve high-altitude performance. The BMW redial was replaced with a Junkers Jumo 213 in-line liquid cooled engine, and the increased weight and length of the engine were ballanced by a 30 cm spacer inserted in the fuselage at the break before the empennage. The annular radiator was adapted from the design of the JU-88's "power egg" installation. 1805 Fw-190D9s were produced between August 1944 and the end of the war.

Ayhan's Focke-Wulf is the Eduard 1/48 kit in the markings of Oblt. Hans Dortenmann of IV./ JG26.
