As aircraft engines grew it became increasingly difficult -- and dangerous -- to "hand-prop" the engine to life. mechanical starters were developed to add power and safety to the process. This starter truck is similar to such vehicles used around the world.

A British test pilot with AIRCO, Capt. B.C. Huck, developed a practical apparatus mounted on a truxck. These vehicle systems became known as "Huck Starters".

The National Museum of the United States Air Force displays this Ford-mounted Huck starter truck.

Should not be a hard conversion from a Gaz truck since Gaz has its roots in the factories that Ford built in the CCCP
