The show
The Irish Model Soldier Society’s annual show is most commonly held in mid-May and is the showcase for both society members and non-members alike. This year (and for many previous years) the show was staged in the picturesque surroundings of Dublin Castle in the heart of Dublin, more specifically in the Coach House venue which opens on to a beautiful circular lawn that is perfect for the various enactment groups who are usually present and if the weather is good, the location is a real sun-trap.

The annual show is one of the largest in Ireland and attracts modellers country-wide as well as roping in modellers from Europe and even further afield. This year the show took place over the 12th and 13th of May. Karl Hoy and Pat McGrath attended the show and brought back these pictures for us.
the models
Although aircraft are not the main focus of the show, there were some spectacular models presented. Taking pride of place were two dioramas offering different takes upon the theme of search and rescue. The complete show report may be seen on our sister site, Armorama.
