Tamiya's 1/48 Corsair is typical of their 1/48 kit line. It has excellent detail right from the box, and you really have to work at it to build it badly. Jim shares some pictures of his kit with us.

Great job! I have a Corsair in the works (Academy 1/72) and I want it to paint it overall blue. Which colour have you used for the fuselage?

Thank you Giacomo. I used Model Master 1718, FS35042, Flat Sea Blue lightened with white/light grey to account for scale and very little sun fading. I didn't want to make a beat to death Corsair so I modeled it to look like it just recently arrived on station. Good luck with yours, I'm looking forward to seeing some photos. Take care :-) Jim

Thanks Jim! I didn't find the Gunze equivalent, so I ended up getting the Tamiya one (XF-17) and some blue. All is masked and ready for painting, it will definitely be blue, but I might decide to get some new decals!

Thank you Aus, cheers! The only thing I did that was not out of the box was the engine wiring. I had forgot to mention that and didn't want people to think it was totally OOB. However , Tamiya kits are just about flawless. I love building them. Anyway, sorry for rambling. Take care and thanks again Jim
