Loire 130

  • move
The Loire 130 was to the French Navy, what the Walrus was to the F.A.A; an ugly but faithful workhorse. Azur had the good taste to produce a very good, mean basic, model of this plane, and left plenty of free space for a modeller expression: scratch!
E Deluy did an neat job in Replic building both the Azur and the FM models, but Patrick Baudet outdone himself in WingMaster and I followed exactly what he did in his article to get what you now see.
The plane is one of the "Strasbourg" battleship dotation at the time of the fateful scuttle of the French fleet in November 42.
Decals are half painted and half from the decal dungeon, the excellent Lela Presse book on the Loire was used to good advantage.

I love it. It's so ugly that it's awesome. It's like a flying house-boat.

Hi Jean, Very fine work on the Loire. Not an easy aircraft to build, in every aspect! Now you know that you are famous. People think they have seen you even when you weren't there! Joyeux Noël à toi et tes proches. Passe de bonnes fêtes! Jean-Luc

Beautiful build, Jean. Great job on her and the choice of markings is great. One has to love those colourful Vichy markings. Thanks for sharing

Jean, Thanks for posting this. A great build and I love seeing these examples of non-mainstream, but nevertheless important, subjects and kits. Formidable! (See, six years of french lessons weren't wasted on me after all) Simon
