About the model
This is the CR.42 of Lt Mario Visentini when he was at the 410° Squadriglia Autonoma in Italian Somalia in 1940. It is on board this plane that he landed behind the enemy lines to pick up his Captain who was shot down. The model was made from the 1/48 scale Italeri kit which was fitted with a scratchbuilt air intake below the engine and fuselage. The interior was also scratchbuilt to represent the tubular inner structure of the airframe. The plastic of the model has been sanded smooth to attenuate the overdone rib details. The model was then engraved anew. The camouflage is based on a Giallo Mimetico3, Verde Mimetico3 and Marrone Mimetico2 paint scheme for the upperside and griggio Mimetico for the underside. All the actuators for the movable surfaces have been redone for more realism.

Great build, Jean. You did an excellent job on that camouflage. You got the "italian" camouflage look just right. Very inspiring to see a biplane without too much rigging. Thanks for sharing
