Hi,
Which version are you referring to?
The Italeri M4A1 has been a hot topic around here. Check out the Group build here:

Good luck!

Like Kevin says, this tank has been talked about a lot. It is from the days when Italeri made their best stuff. Very good kit holds its own even today. Not the best Sherman on the market, but it is still a respectable build. Only real error is the main gun which should be replaced and the tracks can be fairly stiff depending on when the kit you pick up was issued.

i am just finishing the M4A1 kit, and it is a fine build withthe main gun replaced. You may also want to replace the tow cable, I did, and the tracks need to be "worked Over" to get them to soften up a bit. Also, the .50 cal is a bit rough, I covered mine in a rain tarp. I will post when I am done.

I like this kit very much (M4A1 76W). With some extra work you can obtain a very nice Sherman. Apart from the gun barrel the tracks are not the propper type for the M4A1 76W, and the one that comes with the kit are of poor quality, better if you replace both things with aftermarket offerings.

As with just about any Italeri kit, all their Shermans need a little work. But if all you want to build is a low cost representation of a Sherman they will do just fine. Some of their Sherman product are terribly mislabled though ie their Sherman Jumbo (not). so if you could be a little more specific about which Sherman you want to build, maybe we can help a little more.
