Well they say revenge is sweet :-)

Thanks Guys and Gals. It was a bit depressing having to celebrate my 21st (again) :-) on my own in a hotel room in Reading but coming home to the greatest present more than made up for it. Not only did I come back to the most wonderful girlfriend in the world but she got me the Tamiya 1/350 U.S.S Enterprise (which I've wanted for years and could never afford) with the additional two plane sets and a new airbrush.

Before anyone asks a build feature will be done once I move out of the parents basement and get a place of my own as this kit is HUGE (its just over a meter long) :-)

Happy birthday Allen
A coleague at work bought the enterprise (he's not a modeler just wanted the kit ) I asked him the other day if he had made a start on it, "I've built a bench to build it on" he said I didn't ask him what the boss had said Yep it's a big kit.

Great birthday present Allen.
I remember seeing this kit built in what was Beatties model shop, and it is huge. Where are you going to put it once built .

Not quite sure yet but with the other huge kits In the stash and the tonne of others on the go at the moment (including the Tamiya 1/32 F-16 Thuderbirds Sam got me last year) i might get round to it some time in the next five years. Which (hopefully) by then we'll have our own place with a dedicated model/display/reference room

Hi Allen,

Must have missed this one. Happy (belated) Birthday

I'm glad that you got the presents that you always wanted. Where to put it?, well, I suppose taht when he's not actually sailing in the thing, it doubles up as a convenient bath tub!

I am sure that Sam and yourself shall have more room for modelling/refrence books/etc when you have your own place, but you'll probably need rooms (plural)...these things have a nasty habit of expanding, especially when two modellers share the same space!

Enjoy your presents.

Derek
