Sorry for not doing this earlier. It was the consensus of members that the theme for SMW 07 should be Made in Britain. There are really no rules except common sense ones.

1. Must represent something built in Britain e.g. A Spitfire
2. Can not be a foreign piece of equipment used by the British e.g. A Sherman tank and BTW this includes the Firefly.
3. It can however, be something built in Britain but used by a foreign operators e.g. A Lightning as used by the RSAF.
4. Multi - national equipment can not be included such as the Tornado.
4. The main aim is to have fun and have something built by SMW 07 specifically for the branch stand.

Any questions just ask. I look froward to everyones build threads.

Ross

P.S. There is still going to be something to do with Revell, which everyone liked the idea of but more of this soon.

Ive decided Im going to do a 1/72 Hawker Hunter Prototype for definate. If i get time to i'll try and get my 1/32 Hunter finished as it is going to be finished in the 'Miss Demeanour' colour scheme Dont hold your breath its been on the go on and off for the last two years, cadets keep breaking it at this rate it will be entirely constructed from plasto :-)

*Edit*

I could also have a go at building a 1/72 Avro Lincoln ive got. Planning on kit bashing the vacform kit with an airfix lancaster.

My choices would be (although looking through my stash i'm limited) either:
1.Airfix 1/48 BAe Hawk with Neomega cockpit and Blue Sky Models Display Hawk XX195 Decals
2. Revel 1/72 BAe Hawk with Blue Sky Models Display Hawk XX195 Decals
3. Aoshima Delorean from Back to the Future 2 (Is Ireland classed as Britian or United Kingdom)

As I said limited for ideas at the moment as i want to use something out of my stash (unless we can bring some that are already built) but i'm still seaching (the kits are hidden all over the place.

**EDIT**

I've searched some more and also found the following:

1/144 Welsh Models Nimrod
1/144 Airfix VC-10
Started Verlinden 120mm "Desert Rat"
1/72 Airfix Vulcan
1/72 Revell Victor

Now i'm really stuck for decisions

Oh undecided at the moment but could be a 1/144 Hunter or two, or could be a DH Comet 4 in 1/144 or a BAC 1-11 in 1/144 or a Super VC-10 in 1/144.

I going to be brave and let you guy's and gal decide for me, let me know what you want me to build out of the above.
Note I will be building multiple Hunters for my local club stand.

Im pretty sure now Im going to build something Supermarine
I might do the S6B,,Im also thinking about the 1:72 Airfix Spitfire MKI number 3. This will be my first attempt at a rescribe.
Maybe,,just maybe,,all depends on the time I have available and how my other campaign builds are going,I might do the Tamiya MKI Spit with the full Aires engine/cockpit/gun bay set I bought for it at Telford.
Hmm,,,what to do eh?

Well I have decided to build Classic Airframes Westland Whirlwind. Harry (Jetprovost) suggested it and as it has been around in my stash for a long while, plus I like the subject, that's the one. I will also try and build the Eduard boxed Airfix Spitfire 24. As I also want to build something from WW1 and a Revell kit, it looks like I will have to revise my list of what I'm building this year

I'm probably just thinking out aloud but could we set this up as a campaign and get a little ribbon?

I think Tomcat is just making a suggestion as its not a campaign only a theme for SMW. Anyway if it was a campaign i might have a nervous breakdown im doing enough of them at the minute. lol :-)

Ahh i can see the confusion now. I'm sorry i didn't realise that the armour peeps were doing a similar idea. At least if this was made a campaign/theme for SMW 07 it wouldn't be limited to just tanks

Sam - That would require the Branch to be able to do Capaigns and that is Jims area. A thought though. It could always be a SMW Annual Campaign based around the theme we choose.

May have to re-think the Comet as I have not had a reply from LGW with a mailing address so I can buy the Comet 4C conversion.
So either a SRN4 or maybe a BAC 1-11 (or should that be VC-11, check your RAF naming manuals).
Anyway what ever it is it will be wingy or floaty/flye, I think.

I can't see any reason why we can't run this as a campaign. We intend to do the builds anyway. It can be, as suggested, our annual theme. I also think that Steve has a great Idea in "The Bulldog Bone". This can be the generic title of the annual campaign, and we can maybe have a vote, at Telford, between us, and the winner receives "The Bulldog Bone" (I don't know what this will be, but it will be a trophy of some kind). For the actual theme, each year, we can simply debate, aqs we did this one. I will check in the staff forum if we can make it an official campaign. Even if we can't have it as an official campaign we can just do via this site

While typing this I had another thought. What about sponsoring a trophy for the comp? I don't know what form it would take or what is required, but we could award "The Bulldog Bone" in the competition. My initial thoughts are to award it to say a youngster, or a novice. Any thoughts on this?

"CHEW-STICK ".........for the "PUPPIES" ...... :-) :-)
As these would be the " Bulldogs Annual Trophies" (???)----can they not be a "sticky" " ANNUAL COMPETITION"--not a campaign as such ??
