Nigel Julian (Lampie) asserts the crown of "Bare Metal Finish King" with this lovely P-47 Thunderbolt. And yes it''s 1/72 scale!

The secret?,,your looking at it right now. Aeroscale/Kitmaker!
This was the first time Id attempted a NMF and used Alclad. In fact,it was also my first Tamiya aircraft build as well.
I asked questions on the site, got great answers and practiced before I did anything on the P47.
The fact that this Thunderbolt turned out so well is as much due to this website and its members than anything Ive done.
Cheers guys

Nigel:

That is a real solid build you have there! The finish is beautiful and well executed. Definitely a top shelf model, and a great representation of the P-47.

Thanks for showing it to us. I'm sure it will inspire others to do the same.

Cheers!

Hi Guys!!
Guess what?
My P47 was awarded a "Commended" certificate in the Aircraft Class at the Wombourne Aerospace and Vehicle Club annual Model Show today
So now my Bubbletop has a certificate for a base and pride of place in the display cabinet!
