Ladies and Gentlemen,

Tamiya Underground with join effort with SFT Plastic Modelling Society SFTPMS is going to organise the Tamiyacom.my competition.

The contest is open to all tamiya kits and will be held in Tamiya UG, One Utama.

The details had been drafted, but not yet finallised.
Anyway, here is the drafted details [for eyes only]

DRAFT)
Location: 1Utama Oval (New Wing)

1. Open to all Malaysians. No age limit. Children under 17 years of age will require written consent from parents.

2. Only Tamiya's range of model kits will be eligible for entry. The exception to the rule will be the diorama category which requires a minimum 60% of Tamiya product as the main content.

3. No proof of purchase is required. No time-restricted built condition.

4. There will be two (2) classes of entry; Standard and Beginner. Six (6) categories in the Standard covering Aircraft, AFV, Ship, Car, Bike & Diorama.

Entry for the Beginner class can be from any of the 6 categories mentioned. This is to encourage the new and younger modellers to participate in the competition, and the organiser/judges reserved the right to refuse any entry not meeting the "beginner" criteria.

5. There will be no restriction on the Standard class for this round of competition. Addition of resin, PE parts and conversion is allowed. (All works will be judged on finished quality, accuracy and etc... )

6. Entry Fee - SFTPMS members RM 2/- per entry. Non-member RM 5/- per entry. School children rate - to be decided.

7. Date for entry submission; (Sometime in July - to be confirmed)

8. Judging and award presentation will be held at the end of the Tamiya event. All entries are to be collected after the comp with receipt issued.

Well gentlemen, hope the above will set all your expectations right and with the current time frame til TC-Day, I hope to see more participation from the rest of the forum members. Any suggestion with regards to the competition is most welcome, please PM me or any of the working committee. Thank you all.

yes.... you MUST use tamiya paints! they'll put your model through a paint-detector-auto-sniffer machine, and they can disqualify you if you don't use 100% pure tamiya paints and thinners... and believe me, they WILL KNOW....

wow..what i technology....
but i think that machine can be fooled if i used tamiya thinner..the smell of the thinner will confused the machine and it will recognise it as tamiya paint

hahahaha

i just hope they didnt bring the MS or HPLC machine

Hahah...me?

I already began work on a Late Tiger from Tamiya...man..Dragon kits are so much better. And I used to be a firm believer in only Tamiya and nothing else.

Just built the lower hull and about to lay the zimmerit. Bought a rubino barrel for this kit. If I have the time, I will built a simple dio. The rest will be OOB, unless I use the Eduard PE. But no so confident at this level to use PE.

But I may be pressed for time. I have to complete by King Tiger for my class, and have to fly overseas for work in a few weeks.

But I will defintely do my best to be there. We need to show that our hobby is alive and well....

Tamiya 35th scale is coming back. The latest Stug III looks impressive plus the soon to be release French Char tank.

Richard, the Stug III is sold in KL at double the price you can get. This is bad news for us in KL. If you see the Char, let me know. I am eyeing for that kit.

Defender,
Jimbo and Silantra are always serious especially about paint. Did they mention that on top of that you have to use the Tamiya scissors, masking tape and tamiya cement as well? :-)

Eveyone is doing the king tiger !! I was thinking about that as well since my postage free LionRoar PE set sampai yesterday I Thanks to Zaidi for pointing out the free postage thing) . Maybe change that for some variety. Guess I will stick to my Sherman OOB ala Battle of the Bulge

Will do so. I have already pre-ordered my Char. There are some new goodies from Dragon as well. I will check it out on Thursday and see what is.

As for the Tamiya tools, got it covered. But damn if you can prove to me how they will know what we used.

Richard,
did u know that every tools have their own identity?? just like when a bullet was fired by a gun...examine the bullet, they will now the scrath mark and any other markings that identify the gun that fired the bullet...
so it's about the same with tools...when we cut the plastics, the cutting point leave the ID of the tools... they still know even if u have sanded them smooth..just like u think the blood on the floor is properly clean... they will know..!!!

hehehe

Bwahahhaha.......you think I was born yesterday? hahahhahahah........

They cannot find out...if you have already sanded it with Tamiya sand paper...Tamiya sand paper already masked it...like putting acid over the finger prints....

You should watch the episode in CSI called, Death to the Plastic Model Tank.

Poor me, don't do AFVs or planes and hardly any Tamiya. Come to think of it the only Tamiya I ever did since coming back to modeling was for my first dio. Can't even enter my beautiful "cicak" camel coz its was made my Beachbum Models Inc.

BTW Zaidi I heard from Chow yesterday he may consider adding a Figure category to replace the bikes category since they were no participants for bikes. Again only if there is a minimum number of 6 participants or around that number.

Richard,

the server in armorama is changing
staff Jim is doing something in the forum...the modelgeek domain, is understood as the temporary server used in the transition period...but armorama.com still here...
as most of you alredy aware, that they're going to separate each genre to it's own server for example, shipbuilder now is www.modelshiprights.com which is sub-domain of the kitmaker network...and all others genre is airplane, figures...

i think this changes is in the transition period, so you may experience some problems, bugs and others stuff...
