Jean-Luc Formery [TedMamere] brings us a Feature that a shows how to make your own resin conversion parts, in both words and pictures. Jean-Luc uses the Bf-109 as his conversion example.

Hi Jean-Luc

That truly is a fantastic bit of work - both on the models and the Feature describing the process! There's simply masses in there to learn from!

Thank you for submitting such an informative article - and Chuck for doing the honours and publishing it.

All the best

Hi Guys!

Thanks for your kind comments! Yes the V14 is a beautiful plane...
Seems red aircraft are "in" at the moment! First Dave's Wallace and Gromit plane, then Peter's Luft'46 one and now Ernst Udet's Bf 109... what about the Fokker Dr.1 of the Red Baron now! :-)

Thanks Chuck for the editor's work!

Hi Jean-Luc

You noticed it too! I was only joking to Chuck last night that we should try for an all-red Homepage! :-)

Hi Chuck!

Thanks for the heads up! How did you found that?

It seems it still goes on! Today someone asked about the accuracy of the lower oil cowling and this was the answer from the webmaster of "The 109 Lair" (I think he knows his stuff...):

I was given a copy of that resin conversion by a good friend, and the fellow got it bang-on... the V13 and V14 had very highly tuned DB racing engines, with a correspondingly larger oil cooler.

I think that was a compliment! :-)

But how did he get a copy of the conversion set?

Jean-Luc -- I look over at that site now and again just to see what they are saying, I never post there.

I did see the other post, and was glad to see them compliment you, you deserve it. They are "Rivet Counters".

As to how he got a copy of the conversion, don't know. He must be refering to some other product ? And of course he didn't read the article very well, as he missed that YOU made those parts!

Hi again Chuck!

After all, the good thing about that is that Armorama gets some publicity on other sites!

But I know now!

Recently I sent two copies to a guy named Floyd S. Werner Jr. He signed up here and asked for two resin sets. As he was new, I thought it was a nice welcome gift... it's a small world sometimes...

Excellent review and work jean-Luc. The history of the aircraft was as fascinating as the build itself.
You make casting resin sound so easy with your step by step instructions. One day i might have a go myself :-) .
Thanks and well done.

Hi Jean-Luc

Fantastic bit of work!!! I've forwarded the feature article to my small club, as we have two air race buffs in the crowd.

Very impressive Jean-Luc! Totally out of my realm except for the info on Udet. Through and through very impressive! The characature head on the squatting image was Udets's self or should I say "elf" portrait.
