Dear all,
it is my pleasure to inform and invite all in the forum to join the Selangor and FT Plastic Modelling Society which was officially approved by the Registra Of Societies on 24th March 2006. All Malaysian are welcomed regardless of where you reside. We hope that with the creation of the first local modelling society, an opportunity now exist to build it to a national level society, able to host international events which are very much needed in this region.
A big call out is therefore extended to one and all to please register your interest and to give suggestions, comments and to contribute to make this society successful.

more details can be obtained from the discussions held here:

Most excellent Loo and Zaidi for putting up this post and maintaining it respectively. Gentlemen the time of complaining high local model prices has come to an end. Its time to do something about it and you have a chance to make a difference by just signing up.

Its not easy to register a society in Malaysia given Malaysia's strict Society Act. Now that we finally have a society we all have to do our little bit to keep it alive otherwise we will never get a 2nd. chance.

Without the numbers the Society cannot get sponsors. No sponsors No competition. No competition No activity. No Activity No Interest. No Interest No New Members. No New Members No Low Modelling Prices.
Those are the facts. Imagine with enough forum we can even appeal to have paints taken out from the Industrial Chemicals Tax category thus avoiding the hefty import taxes we are all suffering from.

The following famous quote (as usual lupa who said it), "Ask Not What You Country Can Do For You, But What You Can do For It".

let it be said that not only modellers are a creative lot, but they are also well read.
Three cheers to our resident historians...

I only know 'lets do it for our country' from grease2 :-)
