Well guys I've finally reached a milestone today. Yup I actually finished my Tamiya 1/16 Kubal. This is a big deal to me as I never seem to finish what I start so I'm working to overcome this. Also this is my first kit I've ever completed to this level (airbrushed, weathered etc) Having only just got into modeling last year and taking 3 months off over winter, I'm still quite new to it all. Was wondering if anyone out there would be interested in seeing some pics as I'd be happy to hear comments/critisms. Was also thinking about writing up a little tutorial on what i did for other beginners out there.

well....a big THANK-YOU to all the people here who helped me get on my feet by answering my questions.

happy new year all
ok guys i have pix up at here...
http://briefcase.yahoo.com/powerlogik03

thank god for digital cameras

You'll notice a few differences to the out of the box tamiya. I made a number of changes to the engine (inspired by a tamiya magazine feature) as i found in this scale i had a better chance of learning the skills for altering a kit and scratch building for the first time. I also covered the seats with tissue paper to make them look less plastic. Especially proud of the spare wheel cover and canopy cover.

As i say this is my first ever completed model so be gentle

Yo. The site works OK. Just a pity I had to log out of armarama first to view it though.

The model. Looks good and I'd be proud to have it on my shelf.

powerlogik,

First of all, Happy NEw Year!
Great job that you have done, especially the weathering. You must be kidding me if this is the first model that you have done.

Very nicely done! Is there any chance we can see some close-ups of the engine compartment?

Thanks all for your replies and comments. Octupus this really was my first completed model. I originally started out making a german halftrack but when i bought my airbrush that model became one with which i learned how to use my airbrush. I found working in 1/16 to be perfect for learning....now im working on a 1/35 marder with photo etch for the first time. My problem is that i found airbrushing to 1/16 to be good.....but when it comes to 1/35 i have doubt about how much detail i can create.

Anyway i have uploaded an engine shot of the kubel (i wish i had a digital camera to have taken some shots before i put it all together). Ill try to do another tonight as im just learning how to use this camera and close-ups don't seem to work well at the moment. I've also uploaded some early marder III shots.

Thanks again....
