Was browsing through the Portugese section of Armorama, and found this image from one of our fellow modelers... Man, that sucker huge - and very well done.... i love seeing someone spend this amount of time to develop such a grand model.... this is the kind of thing I think of whn i dream of "my ultimate model"....

That is nice. Did he mention where he keeps it and how he gets it around? Must have a big truck and house!

Thanks,

Sorry - I don't read Portugese well, but from what I gather, he only says something like

"Here is my latest work, what do you think of as a way to show off my submarine?".

Nothing else is even listed, and there are no other photos.

That is huge. I wonder how long it took him to complete?
Wouldn't you hate to be the dislay next to his?

I actually saw that one "in the flesh" a couple of years ago. It was entered in the competition at the IPMS(UK) nationals in 2000. It was very hard to get any decent photos of it though, too many people crowding round it. Would you belive it only earned a silver award!

Hi guys!
As Keith mentioned, a fellow brazilian modeler post this great picture (and diorama!) on portuguese forum, but contrary to what Keith said, this dio didnŽt belongs to him, he just found it around the net and post it here to share with us.....
BTW, Keith, if youŽd like to have some private lessons on portuguese language youŽll be my guess :-) (kiiding! )

Cheers

I had the pleasure to meet the builder of this super dio, he is from Engeland and his name is Phil Stutsinskas, he was a guest on the KMK event in september and he had this with him, and yes he needded a truck to move it.

He is a fine modeler and a very nice person who loves to talk about the hobby

Here are a few more pictures of this monster dio and his splendid details

There was a thread not so long ago about your ultimate dio. This would almost fullfill my dreams, well maybe a little more battle damge.
An excellent dio and well balanced. Everything has a backdrop up to the houses at the back and everything is clearly visible. Wish it was mines!!

LOL ! This guy is either unemployed, or he started building that dio when he was five !
I like the road with ramps and stairs. Some nice touches there !

I'm waiting for his new creation : the USS Nimitz being loaded at port.

Vlady, Accurate Armour here in the UK made a couple of types. They even made a modular quayside as well. I'm not sure if they still do them.
