Being a dog owner I have access to a virtually unlimited supply of dog hair. Is there any use for dog hair as base material in dioramas? May be an overspray to make it stiffer, paint and form as smoke from a burning vehicle?

Well you can always spray it with a coat of hairspray and then light it....it makes a heck of a realistic fire...

sorry just couldn't help it...

Or you could build a diorama using a dog as the central figure.... perhaps one of those St. Benards with the Brandy barrel around his neck...

what kind of dog is it? I have a Lab/Collie mix she has short hair 3-4" long it's very similar to deer fur, but longer. I used it for tall fall grass once (she's a light orangy brown) and it looked nice untill I sprayed it with clear coat. I use it now to make fishing jigs.

Joan my ole lady has a Poodle little one every time he begs for food or treats I tell him I will take him out in the back yard and give him a sheering like they do to sheep as he looks like a little black sheep.

I think it really depends on the breed. I have three different kinds. One would be too fine and soft for anything. The lab might be used for grass, but he doesn't shed to much.

All you can do is try.

I use dog hair to ruin the paint job on my lasest model. Didn't want too, just worked out that way.
