Hi everyone

You remember? There was an original photo, showing a Panther and an abandoned horse, somewhere in the eastern front.

Well, now there is some progress in the muddy story:

There is yet one important thing to do: Placing a tank comander, who will contact visually with the horse. Im going to put a Verlinden head on a Tamiya-figure, hoping to get the right mood into the face ...

Finally the whole scenery will be called "road to nowhere" (Thanks, "major plasticbattle").

Ill keep You informed about the finished project

When you display the diorama make sure you include a framed copy of the picture. Very effective in showing how you captured the scene.
Great Work!

Excellent work!

Be careful that the Verlinden head isn't too big for the Tamiya figure. You might try Hornet or Ultracast for a head likely to be in scale!

Nice job on the horse, ground and Panther!

Hi everyone,

well, Toni, the answer is coming a bit late, but there is a good reason: Im absolutely busy with the contest.
The mud was made using plaster, mixed with flower earth. On some areas I give an extra-portion of earth, on others I smooth the surface while working with the plaster. So You get different textures, as seen on the photo. After brushing all with dirty grey-brownish colours, and after washing and (very little) drybrushing I apply a coat of gloss varnish, coloured with grey-brown acrylic-paint, to the areas where I want a good puddle of mud. And thats it. "Ihhhh, awful...", says my family.

Outstanding work... I guess I'll have to get off the forums and actually go work on a model now...
