I have been following this thread for a while. Like Pete it's been a while since I built a plane. The last jet was a Marine scooter. I have the venerable Tamiya Marine F4J in 1/32 scale in the stash with some odds and ends collected over time.

At 1/32 some good quality AM bits would really make it impressive.
Me, I might do something about the seatbelts and leave it at that. My only problem is finding somewhere to put it once built!

Stephen, that is my problem also. I am looking at the box among all the other 1/48 kits and it sticks out a good 3".

Along with the Polar Lights 1/350 USS Enterprise, it's easily the biggest kit I own.

Most of my kits are boxed up in the garage ready for the shows....which haven't happened this year. I have a 1/32 Tornado which I just finished sitting on the bench which is taking up all the room. 1/32 is big but they are impressive. Love seeing them at the shows and seeing how much after market stuff I can see on them.
For the Phantom I will defo go for cockpit and seats. Maybe wheels and lifting surfaces. Any suggestions on whats available guys?

Aftermarket: I found out that the exhausts from Aires, made for the Tamiya F-4E, too small in diameter, fit the Revell F-4F(in my case), so it should yours as well. Not familiar with Revell's cockpit for your F-4G, I replaced mine with a full resin drop-in from Legend. Still not ok but 80% done.
For the landing gear and bays I copied Tamiya moldings. Accurate and easy to do for the Revell's, which are lacking any detail.
You can buy seamless intakes from a couple of companies(GT Resin(not cheap)has a good set.
Rest is more like the bomb load and maybe decals, that's an after market to dress up the build plane, very personal I guess
Landing gear bay front:

Just copy cat Tamiya. Note that the Revell bay is way too shallow. So for optical reason you have to make some adjustments.


Not ready yet with this one, so a lot will be added later on.
Think you might go for some build logs, watching others dealing with this kit. Looks very promising from the box art, but... it's a Revell.
