I have now found my build for this campaign. I am going with the crashed escape pod from the Star Wars IV movie: A New Hope.

Looking forward to go crazy on weathering something shot from space through the atmosphere of a foreign planet.

Bought this as soon as it became available, which was about one week ago:

Vesikko is fifth and final Finnish submarine used in WW II, and also prototype of German Type IIA. It was built in Finland to Dutch engineering company's (German undercover organization) design and launched in 1933. Vesikko is currently a museum boat in Suomenlinna.

Bit disappointingly the kit doesn't come with deck gun (20 mm Madsen), which is sort of OK for me, because I was anyway going paint the kit into pre-war scheme.

Welcome onboard, Pasi!

Very cool and unique kit! How big will it be when finished - it is 1/72 scale right?

Construction is over on my escape pod and the base color is on. I am looking forward to go a little crazy on the weathering. I am guessing going through the atmosphere of some planet and hitting the surface would leave a mark

It's 1/72, and will be 57 cm long once completed. So luckily not overly large.

Just started to build it, and seems to be quite simple build. I mostly build out of the box, but with this I want to check it against source material and fix any errors that don't require too much effort. Borrowed few books from library, and the submarine itself is less than 10 km away.

Sounds cool, Pasi.

Be careful about looking at restored military objects. They can often change a lot during restoration. I know the German U-boot on land in Germany has been changed quite a lot.

Looking forward to see more.

So I'm hoping to enter with this kit. It is the Revell 1/32 Spitfire Mk.1 which was originally released about 5 years ago. It was re-released at the end of last year with special markings for the full size inflatable Spitfire that Iron Maiden use during performances of Aces High, and includes two figures of their mascot "Eddie". I intend to pose this in flight with Eddie at the helm

Great kit! It would definitely work.

I have looked at the kit myself several times as an old Iron Maiden fan. Could you post an update with close up of the figures - are they resin and good quality?

No they're not resin, they are plastic and come on a sprue, but it's a much more solid, heavier plastic and in a darker colour than you normally get in plastic kits. They are decent quality - not amazing, but decent. I'll try and get a decent close up with my phone (haven't figured out if there's an up close setting yet)

Started from conning tower, and I'll post quick update because I found it interesting to see how pressure hull relates to outer hull:

Parts look quite nice so far, but fit is quite poor. Had to use clamps and CA for its strength compared to liquid plastic cement.

Neil, a close up would be nice. Thanks for testing to share.

I am calling this one done. The Star Wars escape pod.

FFG has also released an imperial bunker in the same line. I will make that one as well as a bonus entry

That's a really cool little kit there Jesper. And nice work on the base, different too - I'm sure 99% of people will go for a desert crash site

Thanks for the comment, Neil.

I made the drop pod so it would fit with my AT-AT terrain I made in Sci-Fi campaign on modelgeek.com. Desert would be a bit boring.

Picked this up at my hobby shop yesterday.

Always loved the halftrack with a quad mount.

Stephen, cool choice. I have also been in love with the quad mount since I made the 1/76 matchbox kit 30 or so years ago.

I have not seen this kit before. Will be cool to see it finished.

Looking forward to see more 🙂

Hey Jesper

I built the same matchbox kit and loved it. So pleased to see this come out.

Good morning to the friends here. This is my entry here - Zvezda SU-85 1/72 scale. On the market from this (2020) spring. I bought it yesterday and started to build. One the best and easy going kits.
Enjoy the pics.

That's a cracking looking kit Martin. There is some amazingly detailed 1/72 armour out there these days, they look great and go together quickly.

Looks good, Martin! The popularity of 1/72 and 1/56 scale kits for war gaming has really brought forward a lot of really cool kits.

Looking forward to see more

Thank You, Neil and Jesper. The engineering of the kit is perfect. It is took me around 5 hours to build it.
The new stage is primer - black and grey by MIG.
