here are my last progress.

I glued the engine hood and put the engine in.





I also glued the damn' PE on the hood ...(i dislike PE ...)





I also did some scratch built i the wing for the wheels compartments

Some more progress on my Corsair. Chipping done. Next is a semi gloss coat and then decals. Then the next layers of weatehring can begin.

Nice choice, Pasi!! Never thought of that bird as a bend wing bird, but can see it is.

A bit more progress on my Corsair. I managed to get the decals on. Several broke in many pieces, so ended up being a puzzle. not surprising since the decals are probably 40+ years
Some decals also need some serious setting solution. Check how one of the fuselage stars and bars bend outwards(!) I did do this in the beautiful spring weather, so maybe the sun also had something to do about it.

Hi All,

Taking advantage of the staying at home thing. After constructing Eduard's MiG-21, I was excited about giving their F6F-3 a whirl.

I picked this kit up at the ATLCON in 2017, already started (interior parts painted) for $5! Couldn't pass it up.

So, here's my entry!



I started off by gluing the wings and stabilizers on each wing half. This was inspired via a build review, however, on my next one I think that I'll follow the instructions as this move really didn't offer any real building advantages for me.



Next up came the cockpit and engine, these have great fit all around, and presented no problems.



I used HGW fabric belts for USN WWII, and they worked wonderfully. Much easier to put on than PE belts. Hopefully the price will come down in the future, as I really liked them!

John, what are those belts you refer to? Real fabric seat belts? Never heard about that before. Can you tell more and maybe a close up picture?

I am calling this one. Old school Otaki 1/48 Corsair.

A couple of things I am not satisfied with. Mainly the scratches, which I probably overdid in number and size of scratches. Also the weathering did not go perfect - especially after the final coat of varnish that removed more than expected of the pastels/pigments.

All that said I am still overall satisfied and it is going on the glass shelves.

My RF-4C is finished. I'm not 100% happy with this (when am I?), tied weathering with oils for the first time on an aircraft with mixed results.

Having said that, this model has sat part built for at least 15 years, and the kit itself dates from 1985! So all things considered I suppose I shouldn't be too critical. This marks the 6th completed kit of 2020 for me!

Decals are Xtradecal and depict a bird from the 1st TRS, 10TRW based at RAF Alconbury, 1982. They are very thin and not very sticky. More than once I found part of a decal stuck to my finger as I was handling the model.









In the spirit of the campaign, here are Phour Phabulous Phantoms.


And another two from the box o'doom. These both date from the late 90s when I first returned to the hobby. At least I've improved my skills slightly in the last 20 years!

I just reckognized that I have not posted some in-progress pictures, yet.

I startet the Gannet and had some problems with the unusual construction of the cockpit. But it fitted quite well. But black cockpits are hard to paint if you want to see some shades.




There was a lot of filling and sanding at the joint of the wings and fuselage, as well at the Radom. But now I laid on some color.
