I had that very kit when it was in grade school. The tractor was my favorite part!

Even with the automated stitching software of today some thought needs be given when taking you original photo set.

As seen earlier in the photo of the V-2 rocket; if you move laterally as you take your sequence of photos, staying at a uniform distance from your subject, you will produce what is more or less known as a "normal" focal length image with a flat field of view.

However if you stay in the same location and simply rotate your view to cover the entire subject you will produce something more approximating a "wide angle" photograph with the associated distortion of a curved field of view as in my photo of the B-58.
