Trying to find some scale foliage like the branches on this Panther.
Not sure if it looks like some sort of Evergreen tree branches.

I recently reviewed Mantis natural ready-to-use branches and was pretty impressed with their offering: link.

Mario had a look at your link they do look good but just don't look like the ones am looking for.

Jerry think your idea is perfect but I might have to see if I can get them in a small size, but I hope when their dead the ferns don't fall off
Maybe I can apply some glue and paint them.

Cheers for your ideas.

If you take natural plant material and soak it in glycerine (some people add some alcohol to improve absorption), the plant will not dry out and become brittle over time.

Gerald,
where might one acquire some glycerin? Or is it know by a commercial name?
Thanks,
Joep

A number of hobby manufactures make metal etched foliage in a variety of types and styles. (I am guessing this is what you are after - your opening example photo will not load on my computer so I cannot see it.)

MEGAHOBBY.com is one possible dealer source and they carry eleven different patterns.

Hey Karl,

I use Woodland Scenics Fine Leaf Foliage and it comes in different colours which are Olive Green, Dark Green, Medium Green, Light Green, Fall mix and Dead mix. Below is a pic of a Panther I put up a while back using the Woodland Scenics Fine Leaf Foliage for both the tank and the trees.

Karl

Photo link in you first opening frame is broken. Photo does not appear so some of us don't know exactly what you are looking for.

Karl it looks like the strand of greenery you found is the prefect solution.
