Hi Tim,

On the whole this kit is pretty good, but to be honest I wasn't that impressed with the kit winches either.

I think the skylights, once painted are going to be a bit tasty too, especially the with a couple of them open.

Thank you for looking in.

Cheers

Si

More skylights / vents.

some vent boxes are etched in two parts due to their shape.

two boxes assembled, one closed, one open.

I managed to feed the floor monster with hatches, so a bit of pkasticard, some wire for the gasket, and with a bit of luck under a coat paint, it will look ok.

Test fitted in place.

all the centre castle vents / skylights done. A few rigging points to be attached to the boiler casings, then painting.

Cheers

Si

Thanks chaps,

The Pontos etch has a lot to do with that, good sharp fold lines are a great help, especially on the long folds.

The weekend's progress.

rigging attachment points fitted to the after casings and vents.

all sprayed off white.

and fitted in place.

As the weather turned against me for spraying, I just managed to get the cable ways sprayed dark grey and washed black, same technique as the coaling hatches.

Hopefully will get some more spraying done shortly.

Cheers

A little progress this week.

A break in weather yesterday meant I a chance to get the brass sprayed.

black wash put in the skylights, the winches and rope drums have had some colour applied.

The winches washed, the drum of wire, gloss dark brown, and the drum matt rusty dirty mid brown.

The portholes glazed with KK.

The beginning of the fitting.

More soon.

Si

Thanks Mark,

I like the larger scales, but the extra depth in the detail is needed to stop it looking toylike.

Thanks Mark,

I am enjoying the larger scale, but it does need that extra bit of work to get the depth.
