Goodday all!

I'd like to share some pictures of my latest project with you: A M110A2 in use with the Dutch Army. The kit is by Revell in scale 1:35 and comes as a Selbstfahrlafette M110 in Bundeswehr service. The kit comes with new decals and the NATO Diehl tracks (which were absolute garbage: too long and too stiff) which the Dutch M110's also used. I made some small modifications to depict a Dutch vehicle, but the biggest part of building this vehicle was designing and printing the decals. My dad served with the 107AFDVA during his service time, where he was gunner on the M110A2. Ever since I started modeling I had wanted to replicate this vehicle. He still has a photobook with plenty of pictures so I had more than enough reference material to be able to depict 'his' M110.

This is the result. I hope you like it as much as my father likes it!

It looks fantastic! Did you end up using the perfect scale modellbau tracks?

Great build! For a moment I thought I was looking at the real thing.
The A2 was used between 1982 and 1989 so your did "did time" somewhere in between those years. Great to build his "service"-gun!
I was in the army in 1979 serving on the AMX. Great tank, could only shoot with the canon pointing foreward. If it pointed to the side the tank would fall over
All we did was paint them so they must have weight 50kg more due to the layers of paint
But, once again, you did a great job!

Thank you Wouter! I did not and used the kit tracks. If I were to build another one I would most definitly go for the PSM tracks!

This is an awesome model!!! Well done. I would be a very proud father if my son had built this model for me.

Thank you Hans!

AMX's tipping over? I heard my grandpa about that once, he did his "did time" as a mechanic on the AMX PRI and the AMX 13. That's what you get when you mount a 105 in a tank of that size

Once more, thanks a lot!

Being a young M109 battery lieutenant we, staff of M109 batteries, used to laugh about those AMX PRA’s ( PantserRupsArtillerie Armoured Tracked Artillery) and called them “horny citroen deux chevaux....
They tended to run off track when they moved uphill and turned at the same time.

Nice to see some Dutch AFV’s. Clean build and a precise representation.
