Thank you Jesper. Good progress on your SF model. It seems there is another SF kit in the race but I don't understand what is it.

I've started my Hawker Sea Fury from Airfix last weekend and this is the progress so far.
Cockpit assembled and glued to the fuselage ....

.... fuselage closed and major components assembled. As you can see, I'll build the Sea Fury with extended wings. This joist is a nice feature ....

.... wings are attached to the fuselage. The fitting is perfect. There's neither sanding nor putty needed at the transition between fuslage and wings. Fantanstic! Well done, Airfix!

She'll get the underwing rockets plus external fuel tank and camera pod, so all holes are drilled. Hopefully I have not forgotten one ....
Next update comes soon, so stay tuned.

Happy modelling!
Torsten

Welcome onboard, Tom. I have been tempted by that kit myself, but has so far not added it to the stash. It will be interesting to follow your build

Nigel, nice progress. I agree, tamiya has an excellent fit in all kits.

Well, here she is folks. Almost done building. Nothing much to say really - tamiya is SUPERB when it comes to fit. No other manufacturer comes close imho. They also went the extra mile and made sure that almost all of the sprue gates/nubs would end up being in places that were not visible. The only gripe I had was with the return rollers - they were a bit fiddly in their locator holes. I ended up building the rest of the suspension quickly and added the tracks to dry fit to ensure they were all aligned. All in all, an enjoyable build.

Hey folks!

Thinking of entering this campaign.

Weird question though - I'm an armor builder, and I found this campaign thru the armorama campaign page... I just noticed that the thread for this is being hosted in the sister Aeroscale website. There won't be any problem if I enter with Tamiya's M3 stuart late, right?

Nigel,

No problem, it's hosted here because it was my idea and I'm the Admin here, but it's open to all kinds of kits that fit the "new" rule.

Michael

Thanks folks. I've started work on the Tamiya M3 Stuart. Will post more photos later.

Looks great, Franck! Well done!

This will be my campaign build.
Hawker Sea Fury FB 11 in 1/48 from Airfix. It was released last year. Will build the version shown on the box from the Korean War. I will start this build when my PZL 37 for the Bombers 2 Campaign is close to the finish line. But that will still take a while ....

I have finally decided what to make for this campaign. The fantasy flight games AT-ST from Star Wars Legion.
The kit comes with some parts preassembled. The quality looks good so far. More to follow as I get started.

Really nice details, Michael. Will the engine covers and cockpit be open on the finished model to show of the details?

Whoops. I've been working away on the Tamiya 1/32 F4U-1D but noticed I haven't actually posted anything. So here goes:

Slight deviation from the painting instructions. Everywhere I look it says that above the side consoles, the -1D cockpit was black. So:

Cockpit ready to install:

One of my least favorite parts. But with that big radial, I feel like I have to TRY to wire it:
