Here is Dragons USS Independence. Hull was laid down awhile back so no photos from then. Currently just working on the smaller assemblies and lower hull is painted. Three propeller shafts are fitted, the fourth is somewhere in the 9th dimension of dragons factory. Maybe one day ill get a replacement. Going to be painted in Measure 21. Eduard etch being used. Thanks for looking and any and all comments, tips, or criticism is welcome.

Very cool, I have this one + lots of AM in my stash, so I'm going to follow this build, and probably pick up some useful tips

Very nice work Norman,

The etch is going on very cleanly, will following along for the ride.

Good luck, and I hope you sort out the missing prop.

Cheers.

Thanks gentlemen, the prop shaft wasn't in the kit, only had three, the fourth detached from the sprue and is with the model God's. May it forever rest in peace.

So Si, question here. Eduard has you putting railings in the openings for the shutter doors. I cannot find clear photos online of this, in your research on the independence did you come across any photos of this?

If by "shutter doors" you mean the roll-up doors to the hangar then there were chain railings (i.e. with sag) that could be clipped or tied off to the openings when the roller doors were opened. This was common on the larger carriers as well, such as the Essex class.
