You guys are pushing me to new levels of work. I ended up having to set up a height gauge to try and get the wings level.

It looks a bit like an F-16 now. I might just finish it this time.

Looking like I should get my strike eagle finished on time but after each decalling session i'm becoming more attracted to older subjects with less ordnance and stencilling

The paint scheme is looking too dark at the moment a couple coats of pledge but i'm hoping that the matte coat will brighten it up again.

Teens;
One pic up my progress... From this you can see the issues I've had with the plastic used in Kinetic kits... my from wheel broke off...( Left side of pic you can see it on my tray )
Other then that, I'm ready for the enamel wash, Flat coat to finish and adding items to the hard points...
Hopefully I'll be done in a week.....

My F-14 is done. I have never had so many things go wrong with what should have been a simple paint job.

To offset the overall dark colours, I painted one of the Phoenix missiles in colours of an earlier model. Was also going to put an older sidewinder version (g/h) on one side for somne more visual interest, but couldn't find where I have put all my sidewinder missiles (don't you hate when that happens).

Have uploaded to the campaign Gallery.

Nice work Thomas and Iain. Wish my airbrush was cooperating.

Need to brave the black Friday traffic and see about some fresh paint.

If another two weeks are available, I could use them.....

OK, looks like at least a couple of you are too close to cut you off. Two week extension to 17 December is granted. Engage afterburners, you guys!

Hey, you stole my avatar!

I know your pain. I've got 2 of the 4 main colors on my F-16C. Hopefully I can finish the Dark gray tonight, just leaving the radome and some fiddly bits to paint, and then start final assembly and decaling.

Thought I'd finish today but ran out of time for those last minute touches. Should be a done deal over the weekend though

"DONE...DONE......DONE.........and.............DONE!!!"

This build was trying!! Trying to make me crazy!!

Kinetic kits have plenty of accessories, subjects are great, lots of ordnance's to add on........BUT The quality of plastic is sub-standard. I don't know how many times I had problems because of fit, warping etc...etc.. Now I can say I'm done and thanks for the two week extension to build, it was enough to get me across the finish line.

This is all the left over parts from the 'First attempt' and all the aftermarket products I wanted for this project.... In the end, I only was able to add 1/2 the accessories. (This IS the most expensive kit I've not fully completed)

Great F16 Thomas, the panel lines show up nicely without being overdone...

My F15e finally got over the finish line. I'm fairly happy with it but on any future dark colour schemes I'll think more carefully about doing a dusty light colour for the panels. The dark lines make it look too factory fresh IMO.

Anyway, great campaign ! Here's my finished build:

Struggling towards the finish. There may be more tape on it than paint. I've got 3 of the 4 grays on.

Masked off and painted the Gunship gray tonight, but overshot onto the nose. No problem, whip out the second airbrush and shoot light ghost gray onto the front, OH NO , that was supposed to be Neutral Gray. Oh well, clean out the brush and shoot the Neutral Gray. Hope I didn't it up to bad might be able to get the last gray on the nose cone tomorrow. Then just glue on fiddly bits and decals...

Hi All,

I've not been too active on this campaign due to the move. This one was a reach for me, and the move had priority. That said, I was able to spend a little time on the Fujimi F-15. Overall, it's not a bad kit considering its age (circa mid 1970's). Offering mostly recessed panel lines, very affordable and pretty good fit. To bring it up to standards one will want at least a decent ejection seat. A cockpit, landing gear (they are incorrect) and perhaps some burners. For a stand model it appears to fit the bill.

A couple of shots of the landing gear area getting closed, which was a bit of a chore. I did discover that Vallejo acrylic filler is a cool filling product, making this go much easier.

I decided that this one would make the move, so it'll be done in the next Hangar Queen campaign. With that, I bow out, and wish you all a wonderful campaign. There are some really nice ones here!

I think I'm done with the painting!
All 4 major colors on, might need a little touch up here and there. but overall it looks like the drawing. And I think there was more tape than paint on this bad boy.

Now on to the fiddly bits.
