Steve, Link is not working.

I can see your 2 pics in your KitMakerGallery here . Btw, the size is much too big (>1100 kb!), and only 800x600 will be shown and you are really wasting space in the gallery. Better you crop/resize them before uploading (bring down to 100 kb or less).

May I try to help and show Your 2 pics, hope it works better:

Wow,
very nice kits are here! To ease of from my mohawk in the cbi campaign, I will do the Airfix Typhoon. No changes, just out of the box for fun. Hence, I am in!

Oliver

Oliver,

Dare I ask, WHICH Airfix Typhoon?

Michael,
sorry I did not mention it. It is the Hawker Typhoon of the Airfix D-Day assault gift set in 1/72 scale.

Ok, I'm usually an armor builder, but for this one, I'm going all-in with a wingy-thing...I'll be building this big bird dressed in Invasion stripes and markings for 6-6-44...

Looks to be a fairly easy build but extra effort will be taken for the paint job and details. Wish me luck!

Oliver: if that's the new molding, it's excellent.

Clayton: welcome to the light side! That kit's a classic, looking forward to it!

See, I told ya, I had to do a T-bolt for self defense.

Starting on the cockpit. What do you use / how do you put together a plastic control panel, film instrument faces and a brass panel so it stays together?

Pretty kits shown up here, Guys! Sure would be nice to follow up the builds. Looks like Mustangs are really outnumbered so I had to start work on my counterpart to gain air sovereignty

First steps on Revell's 48er FW190...
Will do mainly OOB except some modifications. Engine is not existent, but after the the fan prop is installed there won't be much visible.

Thomas! Nice start to your 190, your cockpit looks great!

Now we have 2 Fw 190s off the ground and alot of mustangs expected to show up.

I started in the cockpit as usual. The 190s pit is very neat and clean but the kit interior walls are absolutely bare. So I added a little structure from strip styrene as well as a few of the other details. I originally mentioned that I would be opening up the kits exhaust ports but have also decided to add an AML resin wheel well. The kits well isnt bad but its very simplified and distracting when viewed from the side. Ive decided to go ahead and do all the cutting carving and grinding now before Ive invested more time in the pit.

Hi all. My entry will be the Fokker D.21 from Special Hobby. Also purchased AM from SBS model to add correct cockpit details and some exhaust, etc.
Gallery seems to be down right now, so starting picture will follow asap.

Ready for it,

Meng 1:48 P-51D Mustang

Just a quick update. I have most of the interior finished, I just need to fix the seat. I managed to break both arms off of the tubular-style seat so will replace them with some 0.020 evergreen rod. Other than that the interior is finished. The weakest part of the kit so far is hands down the decal for the instrument panel. The markings and stencils are by Cartograf and look amazing, but the instruments are beyond basic and plain. This will not do so I replaced them with Airscale USAAF gauges.

I also added some Airscale data placards, lead wire around the radios, Eduard PE seat belts, and scratched a rough map for the map case out of tape. Everything else is OOB with just some paint added.

Everything goes together cleanly once painted. I did use a touch of glue here and there just to make sure nothing popped loose while handling it. So far this kit has been really fun and easy, I'd say Airfix and Eduard have their work cut out to best Meng's new 1:48 scale P-51D.

Not pictured, I also detailed the instrument coaming, ballistic glass, control stick, and got started on the wheel wells.

More to come soon.
