Nice Shturmovik Ryan! Your finishing methods brought out the surface details beautifully!

My yak build has been a bit of a rollercoaster this last week but not so much of kit or build ossues, just my work schedule changing 3 times. This final change sends me back home for the weekend... to finish my build

Its coming along well, I'm stoked! My scratch built gunsight is a bit over scale and I may replace down the road but for now it stays.

After I attached the front and rear canopies I gave it an acrylic sludge wash. While this worked well it didnt stay put in all the places I hoped, namely the wing fuel fill points. Eduards surface detailing of these is a bit overstated so I filled them partially with CA along with the funky fuel gauge detail. As these didnt retain the wash and my time for washes waning I masked off the details and hit it with some tamiya smoke
just what I wanted, noticeable but easily over looked.

Onward and upward!

Michael, apologies for not posting as I went along
Thanks you for running yet another great campaign.

For this campaign I chose this kit. I was short on money so found this for £2.99.

Once i opened the box I realised why it was so cheap.

Poorly moulded
Poor fit
Poor instructions
I guess you get what you pay for.

It was a challenge for my basic modelling skills.

This was it in production

This is it finished.

Still finding my feet with weathering etc.

Thanks again

Hi,
Maybe I'm the last one today. I finished my bird.

It takes so much time to finish it because of the poor quality of this kit.

Apologize about your waiting. Thank you all.
Regards,
K.

In under the wire Mike, nice work!

Well, time to wrap this one up folks. Congrats to all who finished, and to those who didn't get the chance to participate this time, fear not. The Eastern Front campaign as part of the 75th Anniversary of WWII series is coming sooner or later!

Ribbons have been distributed. Let me know if you didn't get one and think you should. Thanks to all for a fun campaign!

Mr. K, judging from your photos, that Tu-2 looks fantastic! Congrats on that! It was worth waiting for it!

Mike, same to you, that Yak 3 looks great! I have the same kit waiting in my stash somewhere. Meanwhile I've got a good taste to build some more "Red Stars" and my next one will be a Hurricane ....

Michael, thanks for running this lovely campaign and the ribbon. To me it made me build the kit with the most parts I've ever had in one build, the beautiful Peshka.

And congrats to all who have finished this campaign successfully!
