Minor update: I've been putting and sanding for the last few days. I've got some photo's, but I'm not going to post them quite yet.

I can tell you I've been using MMD green putty and 600 grid sandpaper.

Thanks for the positive comment.

I've been trying, isn't easy. I can handle some flaws on the under side, but not the top side which is were I've been working on the most. There's a fine line between perfection and obsession and over doing it. Hopefully, I'm not over doing it.

Anyways, washed the fuselage off twice so far with very mild soap and warm water. Waiting on it to dry.

I have a bit of a good news, bad news update. Good news, I did some test foiling on the fuselage, mainly the nose. Bad news, you can still see the "blank" outline, mainly the top turret. I guess I wasn't done with filling and sanding. Minor set back.

Update: I've hit a bit of a road block. I'm being kicked out of my "man cave", got these yesterday from a neighbor.



A bit of a surprise to be honest. Freebies.

I got the under side started before we got the knock on the door last night. Here's how it looks........







You can barely see the "blank" outline. I'm good with that since its in the under side.

Sadly, I'll be moving out of the man cave today since the freebies are sitting in my living room and don't want them to sit there for 6 months...

Now to find other "man cave"..............

Brian, never fear! I have a soution for you! While I was in Korea for my last tour, we were assigned very nice quarters (I was the installation commander) that had formerly belonged to a Two-Star General. To say the least the house was built for entertaining-- white carpets, fancy furniture, etc, but no space for a workbench. I was in the land of Academy, with no place to work. Voila! I was allocated the laundry room by my wife. It was perfect-- I built a lightweight tabletop that could be placed on the top of the washer and dryer out of some scrap plywood. It was simple to slide it off and lean against the wall on laundry day. But, that still didn't give me enough space, so I built a portable top for the laundry room sink-- I made it so it could slide out and down to access the faucet. I had a tall folding kitchen stool I kept in the laundry room to use as a seat. One day I came home and found my wife sitting at the workbench folding laundry-- she said thanks!... and told me it was considerate of me to think of her! I said nothing and just let her continue to think that....😁

Thanks for the input, I wish it was that simple. We kinda need these since we spend about $35.00 a week on laundry. The wife feels kinda bad anyways, just another sacrifice. I'll figure something out. This ain't the first time.........

Brian - At various times in my life I've had to build what have come to be known as " kitchen table models" - simple mods or OOB for lack of a dedicated space to build them . Even now with a huge new basement like shop area under our recently lifted home I do my airbrushing ( acrylics only!) in the kitchen in the winter because the space is currently unheated. Big PITA to set up and knock down each time but it will get better . I feel your pain - Richard

Yup, done those "kitchen table kits". Wouldn't mind it if I didn't have cats. Cat hair and foiling.........with the set up I had, at least I could control that by closing the door.

I'll get it worked out, I'm just not in a happy place at the moment.

Hello gang,

I did find a place to continue the build, however life has interrupted once again. I thought I was done with driving lorries, however that seem not to be the case. Bills have to be paid and I hoped this build would open some doors. I'm rolling with the punches as they come. As soon as the smoke clears I'll continue the foiling on the B-29A.

I feel like I've let the site and everyone down by not finishing this project. My apologizes to all that have been supportive with the advice and following this build.

I'm not down yet.

Brian, No sweat buddy-- we all have those periods in our lives where modeling has to take a back seat- after all it's a hobby. We'll still be here when you get back to it! Sometimes those breaks are also good in getting the creative juices going later on too.
