Allouette 3, Love the sound of them, sadly we have them no more in our Air Force inventory.

My finished product
Basic paint scheme.

And after the decals and 2 coats of floor polish some oils used, mostly dark gray.

But their is more,..
Made from a steel rod some copper wire and thin paper (found in a shoe box)

Thanks for the extension

Ha Jan Janssen, a splendid result, well worth waiting for. Love the drogue parachute

It's still a few days to the very last day of August --- so may be a few more prize winners yet!

Jan-Great Job! That's one heck of a build.
Jonathan-Any chance of getting a couple of more week? I still need to decal, flat coat and do the landing gear for my Blackbird.
Thanks,
Don Smith

Hey Don, sorry, no, we aren't doing that. We have three more days. After that we need to let this thing close and move on.

If you like, as Jelger said, you can continue to post your progress in this thread.

Hi Jonathan,
No problem, I will try to finish up in the next 3 days. If I don't manage I will finish up in the Hanger Queen campaign. Have a good day.

Thanks Kobus,
It's only my 2nd airplane model in about 10 years of building. I'm going to try to make the deadline. Now flat coating it.
Take care,

Hi all,

yeap Jan, i heard from former Alouette pilots that it was a very pleasure to use that helico, but it begins to get a bit old. Very excellent job on your kit, the extra parachute is great !!!!
Don: well done on your black bird !

Here are the 2 last pics of my model, it'll be difficult to finish in time but i won't give up ! I just began the tail yellow and varnished the main blue (with little defaults still to be fixed). The little parts remaining to be glued get their paints drying ....:

cheers

Hi,

Don: I like that giant dimension of the Black Bird.
Nicolas: love that shape of French Alouette.
Jan: Attractive brake parachute.

Finish my kit, a reconnaissance Sukhoi-24MR with no arms.

Regards,
K.

Mr. K-Great Job! That is a beautiful model.
I'm so close, have to paint the front windscreen flat black. I'll try to do it by brush painting tomorrow morning and take photos in the evening. I have to commute 110 miles/day so I'm hoping I'll squeeze this in.

I got a little slivering or air bubbles in the decal of the red box on the spine.
Take care,

Hi,

@Jonathan: Thank you for your kind words.
@Don: You're almost going to finish SR-71.
@Kobus: I just try to simulate the real camo. It's fun.

Hee Haw! Three finishers on the last day! This is why we do campaigns!
Nico, the Helo looks very well done, the big glass canopy and the colorful tail parts are eye candy.
Thanks for joining, I hope you do more aircraft soon. Ciao!

I agree, nice ribbon. Thanks for running a great campaign Jonathan. This was the second plane I've finished in about 10 years. I really need more practice.
Take care,

Great subjects being finished at the end of this campaign!

Unfortunately, i wasn't able to finish my RQ-7 drone in time, as my life outside the hobby consumes a lot of time (not necessarily a problem ). Nevertheless, i will keep posting my progress and hopefully it will be finished soon.

This evening i found some benchtime to finish construction on my drone by adding the last few pieces of PE.

Tomorrow it will meet my Tamiya Fine Surface primer spray can.

Its been while, but recently i found some benchtime to spend some time on my little drone.

The RQ-7 drone was primed and painted, then a gloss cote was sprayed for the few decals and again a gloss cote to seal the decals.

This is the result so far:

The last few things to do are some details to be painted, a few washes and then a protective matt cote.

I already found a nice base which will have a VMU-1 "Watchdogs" patch on it.

Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 1 (VMU-1) is an unmanned aerial vehicle squadron in the United States Marine Corps that operates the RQ-7 Shadow and RQ-21 Blackjack. They are based out of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona and provide aerial surveillance for the I Marine Expeditionary Force. They fall under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 13 and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (WIKI).

Jelger,

Nice little drone! While you should by all means finish it, you do know that the campaign is over, don't you?
