The Hasegawa D is painted, decaled and the weathering is underway. Linden Hill Bush War Hinds Northern Alliance Hind D. I had to look high and low, but came up with a couple of pics.





It's got a much better chance of getting finished this year.

That's very nice Hind, good job on the camouflage pattern!

It's also time i start completing my shelfe queen, this 1/48 bf 110 C.

got the wrapping on the wing edges made and decided to get a bit of ware on the upper colors. Niot that it is a heavily weathered bird, but it did flew more than 1 year before, as showed on the only know photo I saw of it, crashed landed during the Battle of Britain.

Still it needs more work there, also on the white nose (didn't made a very good job gluing the nose) before going to complete the U/C and the green house.

No bench work during next week, but hope to get this kit completed in time.

Finally a getting a chance to work on my hanger queen Hasegawa's VF-OS from the Macross Zero anime series.

This is the current state of build. Cockpit about 3/4 done, some decals and maybe a wash. So a bit of work ahead but shouldn't be an issue.

I will not be able to complete my model before the camapign ends ( in fact I probably won't be able to work on it at all ).

However, since the model is a Sopwith Camel, I'll re-enter it in the Canvas Falcons GB, which ends next November, if that's OK with the GB moderator.

I've got a Hasegawa VF-19 been in this state for over 5 yrs..


Lots of rookie mistakes from long long ago, but back on the front of the bench.




Lots of weirdness in the kit, ootb. Hasegawa would have you use a decal for the canopy frame and the sunken panel lines in the lower fuselage.
Some of which I already used, but I am masking the canopy.

Also, the clear gem 'lenses' on the front fuselage do NOT fit inside the openings.

Maybe some more work later this week.

Two nights at the bench in a row.. not sure how long it has been since I managed that.
nothing like Tamiya tape, a fresh #11 blade, and a phone flashlight to mask and cut canopy masks.

Hasegawa would have you decal the frame, yeah, right..

Got the canopy on, engine nozzles, the clear parts for the 'gems' and wing lights, added the gun barrels and gun underneath and the wheels.





Everything but the gear doors and retouch the paint on the wheels and the chips at the edges of the black and red decals.

Tomorrow evening probably.

If I had it to do over again, I'd mask and paint the fins and take better care of the leading edge seams..

Some really nice builds in this tread. Great to see progress being made on old hangar queens.

I am in with this forgeworld thunderbolt fighter. I guess first task is to get it ready for a base coat with some sanding.

annndddd done! the gloss black on the edges of the fin decals worked well, but I couldn't match the red. Without the wheels, the plane rests on the lower fins and chipped the red decals.

It's also time to complete my hanger queen, Hasegawa 1/72 VF-0A/S w/ ghost.

Well nice to see some new projects getting a push to bench again!

@Mike- good work, that model looks very cool

@ Jesper and Lapman- good luck with your builds, I must confess my appalling illiteracy regarding Japanese Manga and sci-fi stuff, but the quality of the moulds showed seems up to any other Hasegawa kit.

Looks like we have our own little Macross sub-group build going here. Looks great,

Progress has been made on the P-40N.

Wing guns piece shimmed in place.


Nose intake filled and sanded. Opened up and thinned down the front end too.


Landing gear fairing needed a ton of filling work.


Drilled out the intake holes and added a hinge.


Cockpit ready to go.




Fairing filled and sanded, almost finished.


Hole in wing filled and will be drilled out with a proper hole. Fairing is done too.


Fuselage and wing glued together.

Slowly but surely it will be done. Almost ready to start painting it.

Good to see there are progress on other builds in this campaign.

Also progress on my 28mm (1/56) forgeworld thunderbolt. I have finished the basic camouflage now. Next is some detail painting and deciding on decals. It will be fun.

Thanks for the comment, Mile. Much appreciated.

I will keep the battering light. A few scratches here and there, but nothing major.

The plan is to airbrush the panel lines with Tamiya smoke, then use the panel wash to show contest.

For the engines I will try the engine and turbine wash and see how it goes. There will also be some spills around the fuel tank lids.

The products below I have just purchased, so I will test them on this one.More to follow soon.
