Looking sweet. Nice fit with the deck over the spaces you were showing from your previous post.

Nice job so far!
I see you are building a diorama of the the main fleet of ships during the "operation Sea Obit". lol, how ironic I'm doing the same famous photo, but in 1/700th scale!
Good luck.

Hey Mardis, great to hear that you are well again so far, I hope recovery continues on a good and constant level!

Looking forward to seeing your pictures of the Big E!

I just found your build progress and everything is looking great. I soon will be doing the same thing but without the hangar deck. I do have what might seem a really stupid question, but the way that Tamiya has you build the kit makes me wonder. The instructions have you open two flashed over holes at the stern for an extra set of rudders. When commissioned, did the Big E have two or four rudders? The holes being flashed over and needing to be opened up makes me think it originally had only two and two more were added after the major refit in 82.
Later,
Dave

Thanks for the info. I have also talked to a former crew member of the Big E from before the`82 refit and he told me the same thing, so 4 rudders it will have.
Later,
Dave
