Tiger Model is a new company out of Hong Kong that is producing new 1/35 French Army vehicles. This is their first offering of a very nice wheeled combat vehicle, the AMX-10 RCR Recon Vehicle - reviewed by Gino P. Quintiliani.

Thanks! Is this $40 (or thereabouts) MSRP for the US market? Sounds like a bargain...

Cheers,

Many thanks for the review Gino, very helpfull.

I though that you only build US vehicles...

My 10RCR is on the way, perhaps it will be my next vehicle build.

Looks nice.

Do you know if you can build the Desert Storm version from the kit?

Glad it is helpful. I said I mainly build modern US subjects. Not US, but still modern.

Unfortunetely not...the Operation Daguet version has some different details that would require backdating on this new kit. Hopefully Tiger Model will see the value in re-tooling and releasing the Operation Daquet version.

For a Gulf War 1 AMX10RC it seems not impossible to use this kit.
It will need old tyres (as the one used by VAB), removing armored side skirts, not using turret armor plate and rear basket...

Operation Daguet AMX-10 RC's :

As you can notice in these pics, some had been fitted with add-on armor (I'm not 100% sure all of them were eventually fitted with it...). At least they all had sand skirts

I thought I had read on another post that the Gulf War era AMX-10RC had a different style of engine deck therefore requiring more in depth modification of the Tiger Model kit.

The review states "Lows: None noted" but the kit only gets an 85% rating.

My methodology. I have never found a 100% kit. A good kit w/no obvious errors is about an 85% to me. There will always be some minor issues when building it. I really don't like the percentage rating myself. I think the writeup and pictures are more valuable as a means of evaluating it.

Jason
I don't have pic of the 10RC from GW1 but i have some of 10RC i took in mid 2000.
On these pics the 10RC seems to have same engine deck as 10RCR.
I'll see on the Azimut kit since it's based on first 10RC.

Notice that the 10RC on display at Saumur isn't a production batch so the engine deck is certainly not a true one.

Hi guys!

An stupid (maybe) question:

Does this thing steering? Or it just brake one side wheels, like a tank?

I ask because I didn't see any space to steering the front wheels.

Cheers!

Marco
