Only in the hover though!

Well had a funny turn and decided to have a go at something that's not a ship/sub so I went for something big ish, a Revell 1/48 AH-1F Cobra. It's helped along with the Werner wings update set, IPS set, weapons and their decals.

So progress today, cockpit together and painted (no pe in here), engine together cut about to take the IPS, painted and installed plus the new exhaust fitted after removing the moulded on kit part, lastly put it all together.

The decal set

Well that's it for today, a bit more progress Monday hopefully.

A change is as good as a rest mate.

That cockpit interior looks very nice! And with the huge amount of glazing on that, you'll still be able to see all that work when its finished.

Thank you guy's.

Phil yes it is nice to have a change and it felt good.

I have sort of jumped the gun however as I've found that I don't have the correct paint for Helo green, so paint being ordered. In the mean time I've done some cockpit priming work on another shhh If you hadn't worked it out this one will be green and I'll do another from the decal sheet in sand at a later date. I also have a AH-1G, AH-1S, AH-1W and AH-1Z, just missing the 1J, 1Q and 1T to complete the set.

Looks like I need to get my airbrush out and dust it off, which end does the paint go in?

Well with a wait for paint for the AH-1F I needed something to keep me busy so dug through the stash and out came this this BIG beastie.

Cockpit done and most sub assembles just doing the white for the wheel wells and intake ducts. Sorry about the photos, they're taken with my iPod I'll take some better ones latter.

Wings are only placed on for effect.

And here's the real thing, Northrop YF-23 Blackwidow II

Slight progress on the YF-23, fuselage is now together and wings are on although a fair bit of filler was needed on the underside join, that's now curing.

So here's some better photos of both aircraft.

Tape over the front windshield is just a bit of protection while the rest of the build carries on around it.
