Thanks so much for your more then kind words. I feel the same way about the A-6 Intruder, and it's Air Force brother, the A-10. Will be building that bad boy early next year.

Thanks so much for stopping by and your most positive comments.

Sure wish that I was fully retired, as I still have more then a year to go before it's an viable option. Right now I'm "semi" retired, working 4 days/32 hours or more per week.

The trick is that we don't have any grandchildren, and that our only son (27) still lives at home. But according to my wife I do spend way too much time building models. I did promise her that I would start to spend more time working around the house, and less time at the bench.

Modellers who are their own most severe critic, often are the best modellers.

I know that it is common to say "waw" to every model appearing on the site. I also firmly believe that this is the right thign to do because usually these models are indedd very good.

But this A-6 loos really stunning

Glad you like how the Hobby Boss A-6E turned out. With dedication to the build, it does produce a really outstanding model.

The wooden base I use to hold the model in various positions is one of several sizes and types by JH Models. I got my at UMM-USA for $24.99 plus shipping costs. While not perfect by any means, it does work well for its intended use, and can take more abuse then I thought it could. It's been a true love/hate relationship. Here's the link to the item:

Once again, I thank you for your most kind and thoughtful words. It's certainly true that I'm my own toughest critic, followed closely by my brother, whose skills are just that much better then mine. It does mean quite a lot to me that other modelers appreciate my efforts, and take the time to post them.

Thank you for appreciating my efforts.

Honestly, I consider myself a slow builder. I just work on one build at a time, and don't deviate from it. The only other thing I do is start the research for my next planned build when I need a break every so often.

Trust me. My cell never rings. They know better.

Not only don't I start more then one kit at a time, but I never open any kits up in my max 12 kit stash. They're all still shrinked wrapped. The only amendment to the rules is that once I decide on the next build and start my research, at some point I do open the kit up and exam it. Part of my research is every build review from trusted sites/and builders. Then I decide if and what I need to upgrade with AM parts. And I really go conservative on that stuff. One can go overboard and spend easily more then the cost costs upgrading it.
