Hi John and thanks. Not seen a pic of your ruski for a while, my P.E. is a little easier to manage than yours though.
I used Tamiya masking tape and normal stuff you use on your car. It took a little time to do, but I have done one of these before and did a similar way.

And yes that is Mr. Henry. A limited print with both signatures. Artist and Thierry himself. Big Arsenal fan John.

I'll try to work on my PE parts this week.
I've been a little busy with other builds lately.

Dennis Bergkamp is my favourite Arsenal player maybe the best one. I know Henry, Vieira, Ian Wright, Adams were also great but to me Bergkamp was on a different level of class.

Anyway back to the Su-27, what colours did you use for the wheel bay ?

I used light grey Tamiya,I wanted the bays to be a little lighter. Got all the undercarraige done now too. Just the cockpit and a coat of Klear.


Oh my fav Arsenal goal...........................Bergkamp v Newcastle. Set up by Pires (another true great) and executed with finess and great skill. Flicked the ball to his right, spun to his left around the defender and placed it in the bottom corner. Superb.

Hi guys first let me say sorry for not being around much iv had a lot going on at home including moving .. WOW !!! some fantastic builds going on here im very impressed !! id better get started on my own id feel pretty stupid not finishing my own campaign !! hahaha

Finally had some time to do some decals.
Now for some coats of top cover and extra painting.....
Getting close to completion, Although my daughter came home to visit for awhile....I'll see how much time I get in my office without getting in trouble

Engine intakes & cockpit are on my workbench,



Still deciding on the PE or decals for the cockpit details.

Peter - The Flanker is looking stunning, that is a really bright
scheme!

Jeff - The Dragonfly looks great, should really be something when it's finished.

Right, a quick update on the Tonka. I have been decalling for two days solid, and I'd say I'm 3/4 of the way there. I still have one side of the aircraft to go, plus all of the hard points, the tanks and the ECM pods.


Another couple of days work, and she'll be done!

There's some nice work going on here! I seem to have hit a bit of a snag: I can't find the starboard vertical stabilizer. If anyone has an Academy F/A-18C kit in 1/72 (#12411) that they're using for spares, I'd be very appreciative. In the mean time, I'm gonna go clear out my modeling area...

UPDATE: I found it under the newspaper I laid down. I looked there several times, but it somehow resurfaced only after the fifth time. Crisis averted, you may all return from the edge of your seats now.

Whew! ... you had me worried! ... and I'm not even an airplane guy!

Somebody should really build a 1/72 scale Airplane Graveyard diorama for disasters such as these.

..... and I'm done! I have tried out a light raw umber wash for the final weathering, and it seems to have worked ok. It is easy to overdo weathering, so I tend to hold it back as much as I can. Anyway, here's the Tonka:

Here is my completed entry:-

Hi,

There I was fixing all the small gaps on the Flanker when the cover behind the pilots seat got some life of it's own and jumped back inside the fuselage... I manage to get it back but I can't fix it.. I tried with glue tweezers and almost twisted my wrist.. but with the glue on it just went back inside the fuselage and got stuck somewhere.



My only solution at this point would be to open the fuselage but it has been setting the glue & filler for a week now, I'll risk a serious damage...I don't know what to do at this point.

Anyway I finished the jet exhausts with PE parts, will give another coat of steel later on.

I'm really unhappy with this, I've always had a hard time with aircraft builds, I mean standing on all it's wheels and leveled wings and I'm a happy guy !!

I'll drink a few cups of patience and see what I can do..
