For more useless information. The B.M.W. engine was further developed by G.E. while the Jumo was done by R.R. I might have the engines referenced to the wrong company. But there is a direct lineage there. Just goes to show that the German engine designers were on the right track.

Hiya D! Well we were talking about me doing the 1/32 scale Trumpy Me262A-1a ..... but who knows maybe there'll be time for two? Here are a couple of pics of the kit

Hey who knows maybe there'll be time for three???? Here's another Luft '46 idea!

Keith, nice choice there. I've been keeping an eye out for that kit in my travels for a while now, it's one of the few 1/48 scale versions that aren't hiding in my stash. If you are really concerned that you can't hold out until the campaign starts, just send the kit to me and I will take good care of it for you.

@Damian--Sorry, but I think I'll hold onto it. And by that I mean hugging the box to my chest and rocking back and forth as I quietly count down the days until the campaign starts.

So what defines 'starting a build'? When metal hits plastic: i.e. a Swiss file, hobby knife blade, or sprue cutter? In other words--researching the subject and gently fondling the parts on the sprues while murmuring "Me Precious..." is okay, right?

Would it be bad form to revert this kit from an A-1a/U5 back to a regular A-1a? 'Cause that's what I plan on doing.

Thanks,

Keith

Methinks you don't trust me !!

I certainly hope so, otherwise I will have to forfeit almost all of my ribbons !

I just happened to pass by one of my regular LHS haunts today in my travels, and found this on the shelf at a very nice price. I picked it up and looked it over, and it seems to have followed me home.

@Damian: Funny they seem to do that a lot ..... mine I find online and then they suddenly turn up at my door ..... I tell my wife that we talked online and I said if you're ever in my neighbourhood look me up ..... funny though she doesn't seem to believe me. Nice kit D is the barrel metal? And if not will one be following you home before the campaign starts?

Hi Chris. This is the same kit as the Cyber Hobby box I posted earlier, just without the extra details. The barrel is plastic, but as you said it just screams out for a nice brass or aluminium after market part. I plan to build one as the actual prototype as pictured on the box, which never flew according to the info at hand, and one as a battle-scarred active duty what-if version.
BTW, are you telling me that your wife never has anything mysteriously appear at the front door that she has discovered online?

Cheers, D

I have a few versions I would like to build if I have the time. One with the cameras in the fuselage just behind the cockpit. Which is a Arba cast resin conversion. It give you 3/4 of the fuselage and the rest is from the doner kit.The other I will try and tackle is a unit which was used for the Lorin engine tests. Which is the pulse engines sitting on top of the wing engine area. I am using a Revel kit for the schnell photo conversion and a dml kit for the lorin conversion. Why use a semi good kit just to throw away half of it. Will get photos up soon.

Bump time, anybody picked up some goodies for this campaign that they would like to show off, or some reference pics for the library?

Yep, getting harder and harder to resist cracking into one of these kits before the start date, but I have 2 other campaign entries to build before this one begins.

Bump time. Actually, well past bump time !

Still sitting on 19 enlisted. Come on folks, this one doesn't start until March next year. Plenty of time to dig one out of the stash or relieve the LHS of some stock.

Campaign page is HERE with all of the important info.

O.K. Damian, now it's 20...
Maybe I'll go also with any Dragon-Kit or a Revell out of my stash. Would be my first 262 since 40 years (a Revell 1:24 early 70's)

Hi everybody,

I just signed in. I'll buils something by Revell in 1:72 or Hobby Boss in 1:48.
That's my third campaign I signed in today and I'm proud I don't have to buy one single kit because my stash provides me with an ample supply.

Just enlisted. There are two in 1:48 from Hobby Boss, maybe I'll tackle the 1:32 Trumpeter. We will see...

Bob, great to have you on board, thanks for joining.

Robert, nice images, I found a 1/72 resin kit of the tail wheel prototype version in my LHS.
